Keep students in school
Most parents of the students in the school struggle to provide enough food and other necessities. From time to time, some students leave the school and work as labors to support their families or their younger siblings going to school.
With the objective of keeping students in school, Project iBelieve distributes school supplies, student uniforms and English storybooks to the school.
Improve English teaching
There is no designated English teacher in the school, although English is a subject in the curriculum and one of important skillls for Nepali to make a living. Students have learned almost nothing else but the alphabetic letters and a few simple words when they graduate from Grade 8.
Project iBelieve hires an English teacher to work in the school, and looks for volunteers from English speaking countries to help students with their oral and written English skills.
Get students focused on learning and playing
The project works on after-school projects to help students learn practical skills and knowledge while having fun. We also purchase sports equipment and facilitate kids to play team sports, which help them develop team spirit and self-esteem.
As many students stay in school for 6 hours without lunch, we are working on providing healthy snacks to the students so that they will be able to focus on learning.
